An officer known as the 'memory man' is targeting more crime suspects in 2026 after achieving a milestone this year.
PCSO Andy Pope is known as our super recogniser for his ability to remember wanted faces across the region.
The 47-year-old picked out his 3,000th suspect earlier this year as he continues to be a scourge on those trying to avoid the law.
The award-winning officer keeps himself updated on those who are wanted for offences through CCTV, video stills and police briefings.
He has proven there is no hiding place for criminals by often spotting people in crowded areas. He even managed to identify some wearing face masks during the CoVID pandemic.
The Safer Travel officer remains fully focused on helping to catch even more suspects and is now eyeing up the next milestone - 3,500.
Andy said: "I've been asked many times over the years how I remember so many faces, but even now I couldn't give you the answer.
"It's just something that happens, and I feel extremely fortunate I'm able to assist in keeping the streets of the West Midlands safe.
"It was a proud moment to reach the 3,000 milestone but, if anything, it has just made me even more determined to spot more. I will be keeping a close eye out in 2026."
